QUIZ ANSWERS

Both Sides of the Brain

There is nothing like a puzzle to get our brains thinking. The pattern in the March 2001 issue was:

OTTFFSSEN_

This was the first letter of each number up to ten. O=One, T=Two, T=Three, F=Four etc. So the answer is "T" for Ten.

It was a bit sneaky wasn't it! If you have a different, possibly more creative answer, we would love to hear it. Or if you have a puzzle you would like us to use please feel free to send it to us at wbd@merrymentality.com.au

Stress Relief

In the March 2003 issue, Burma and India gave us a some stress relief acronym teasers. Some were easy and other required thought. Here are the answers for you.

8T of an O 8 - Tentacle of an Octopus
26L of the A - 26 Letters of the Alphabet
7W of the W - 7 Wonders of the World
12S of the Z - 12 Signs of the Zodiac
5T on a F - 5 Toes on a Foot
52C in a P(WJs) - 52 Cards in a Pack (Without Jokers)
18H on a GC - 18 Holes of an Golf Course
90 D in a RA - 90 Degrees in a Right Angle
3BM(SHTR) - 3 Blind Mice (See How They Run)
13 = UFS - 13 = Unlucky For Some

How did you go?

Paradigm Shift

Here is the sequence of numbers: 8 5 4 9 1 7 6 3 2 0 from the March 2005 WorkStyle by design.

Could you work out the reason for the logical sequence of these numbers?

The answer is that it is alphabetical. Eight, Five, Four, Nine, One, Seven, Six, Three, Two, Zero.

How did you go with your paradigm shift? If you have a different, possibly more creative answer, we would love to hear it. Or if you have a puzzle you would like us to use please feel free to send it to us at wbd@merrymentality.com.au

Satisfaction = Experience - Expectation

In our May 2006 issue we posed the question "What do you think India's satisfaction level was at the XVIII Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony in Melbourne?

Given we had 100 sausages and one BBQ, he had high EXPECTATIONS as he could smell the cooking for quite a while before he was able to have his high EXPERIENCE of eating 2 sausages after all the humans has eaten.

We know that SATISFACTION = EXPERIENCE - EXPECTATION thus India's satisfaction was only neutral, given he had high expectations and a high experience.

PS - India's outlook on life is pretty much neutral so this result is not unexpected. Not alot happens in his day where he expresses himself. Oh, apart from playing on the beach with his ball and when food is around!

PPS - India is actually a Labrador in Poodle disguise - we have never met a poodle who loves his food as much as Indi!
